In order to summarize activities in 2020 and approve the plan for 2021, on April 2-3, the Vietnam National Roofsheet Association organized the annual meeting in Da Lat city with the participation of representatives of the Committee on Science Technology and Environment of the National Assembly, the Office of Government, Ministry of Construction, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Construction Hospital, institutes, associations and AC roof sheet companies, members of executive committee.

Mr. Vo Quang Diem – the Chairman of VNRA delivered an opening speech, mentioned difficulties all factories had to handle during the pandemic of Covid-19. However, effortless attempt brough certain achivements such as the production increase of 10 percent, consumption increase of 14 percent (compared to that of 2019), product diversification with corrugated sheet, colored sheet, flat sheet, fibre cement tile, etc., effective communication and charity program.

In 2020, different legal documents regarding the use of chrysotile such as the Law on Investment no.61/2020/QH14, the Strategy to develop building materials, the Decree no.09/2021/NĐ-Cp on managing building materials were promulgated. Notably, the clause “chrysotile is on the list of conditional business” is still remained in the Law on Investment, providing a firm legal framework for the industry.

In 2021, the VNRA will aim to boost production and consumption, improve the current products and conduct diversification, strictly comply with the provisions of law on conditional business.
