New solid house bring warmth to the poor in the extremely cold winter

This winter has been extremely harsh in the mountainous areas, and fortunately, the Vietnam National Roofsheet Association has promptly completed solid houses for the poor here.

The snow came and had negative impacts on the lives of local people

It has been a long time since the North experienced through such a cold winter. In the early days of January, the intense cold and drizzle rain caused a sharp declince in temperature in several northern moutainous provinces. It was reported that the temperature decreased below -1 Celsius degree, even -9 Celsius degree. In Quang Ninh, Lang Son, Cao Bang, Ha Giang and Yen Bai, vegetation and houses were covered by snow.

For many people, the natural phenomenon is so fascinating because snow is very rare in Vietnam. However, this is also severe living condition for local residents in Northern mountainous areas, which results in various worries of health problems, crop  and livestock damage and lack of necessities.

Over the past few days, the lives of people here have been turned upside down because every activity was postponed. In fact, adults could not do the farming while children must stay at home. In such circumstances, it is so fortunate to live under a solid house. A number of disadvantaged families are living in the degraded cottages.

New solid houses have been handed over for the poor

In 2019 and 2020, the Vietnam National Roofsheet Association has promptly completed several constructions for people in Yen Bai, Ha Giang.
